Job Description

The ACLU is seeking a Summer Legal Intern for the Immigrants’ Rights Project. This position offers experience in impact litigation and legal advocacy, working with attorneys on cases related to immigrant rights. The internship can be remote or hybrid, based in New York City or San Francisco.

Responsibilities

  • Drafting memoranda, affidavits, and briefs
  • Conducting legal and policy research
  • Researching prospects for new litigation
  • Drafting materials for public education
  • Legislative bill tracking and analysis

Requirements

  • Currently matriculated legal student
  • Based in the U.S. for the duration of the internship
  • Completed at least one year of law school
  • Excellent research and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Commitment to civil liberties and social justice
