Job Description

The ACLU is seeking a Summer Legal Intern for the National Security Project in New York City. The intern will support the project's legal and advocacy work, conducting research, drafting legal documents, and assisting with litigation efforts related to national security issues.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal and policy research
• Draft memoranda, affidavits, and briefs
• Research prospects for new litigation
• Draft materials for public education

Requirements

• Completion of at least one year of law school
• Excellent research and communication skills
• Ability to analyze complex legal issues
• Initiative and commitment to civil liberties
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
