Job Description

The ACLU is seeking a Summer Undergraduate Intern for the Trone Center for Justice and Equality in New York City. This internship focuses on issues surrounding crime, punishment, and racial justice, involving legal research, writing, and support for the Center's initiatives. The position can be remote or hybrid and requires a full-time commitment for 10 weeks.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and analysis on criminal and racial justice issues
  • Draft communications, memos, and presentations
  • Document and track complaints from incarcerated people
  • Assist with Legal Operations initiatives
  • Support the Trone Center Director and Special Assistant

Requirements

  • Completed at least two years of an undergraduate degree
  • Demonstrated commitment to justice and equality issues
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Self-motivation and initiative
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
