Job Description

The ACLU is seeking a Legal Intern for the Liberty Policy and Government Affairs team within the National Political Advocacy Department. This internship offers opportunities to learn about public interest work, conduct research, and engage in policy advocacy related to reproductive freedom, LGBTQ+ rights, women’s rights, and disability rights. The position can be remote or hybrid and is based in Washington D.C.

Responsibilities

• Conducting research on reproductive freedom
• Preparing advocacy materials
• Attending meetings
• Monitoring legal and legislative developments
• Performing legal research and writing

Requirements

• Knowledge of government, policy, and reproductive rights
• Strong research, writing, and communication skills
• Organized and proactive
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
