Canonical is seeking a Software Engineer to join their HPC team, focused on delivering an outstanding HPC experience from bare metal to public cloud as part of the Ubuntu platform. The role involves Python software development for automation of key software in the HPC sphere, and collaboration with a globally distributed team.

Responsibilities

• Write high quality Python software
• Collaborate with a globally distributed team
• Debug issues and fix code
• Contribute to technical documentation
• Discuss ideas and collaborate on solutions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM or similar
• Experience with modern Python
• Strong math and science skills
• Experience with open source software
• Curiosity, flexibility, and accountability
• Interest in Linux, Kubernetes, Public cloud, OpenStack, LXC/LXD, Go, Debian packaging
