Job Description

Canonical is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a remote team focused on building a next-generation private cloud infrastructure using KVM, Ceph, and SDN technologies. The role requires a strong technical background, leadership skills, and a passion for developing and mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of remote engineers
• Develop talent through coaching and mentoring
• Set and manage expectations with stakeholders
• Advocate for modern software development practices
• Participate in code and architectural review
• Engage with Canonical teams, the open source community, and partners
• Work from home with global travel

Requirements

• Understanding of Linux cloud computing technologies (networking, storage, containers, K8s)
• Experience developing and growing people
• Focus on delivering high-quality software
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• Strong technical communication skills
• Experience programming in C and/or Go
