Job Description

Canonical is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Server Certification team, developing Python-based testing tools to ensure optimal Ubuntu Server performance on enterprise hardware. The role involves troubleshooting, partner support, and contributing to open-source tools, with a focus on the interaction between server hardware and Ubuntu Linux.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to open source testing tools
• Troubleshoot hardware compatibility issues
• Support hardware partners in certification efforts
• Educate partners on Canonical’s tools and processes
• Support internal teams on customer deployments
• Travel globally 2-4 times per year

Requirements

• Good knowledge of Python and shell scripting
• Knowledge of server-class hardware
• Familiarity with Ubuntu, virtualization, and cloud computing
• Confidence in a customer-facing role
