Canonical is seeking experienced Engineering Managers to lead teams optimizing Ubuntu for the latest hardware platforms (x86, ARM, RISC-V, s390x, and POWER). This globally remote role requires strong technical skills, leadership abilities, and a passion for open-source technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of engineers
• Oversee commercial engagements
• Participate as technical lead on complex customer engagements
• Implement disciplined engineering processes
• Integrate and maintain software stacks
• Optimize Ubuntu for latest hardware
• Provide technical leadership
• Contribute to code reviews and documentation
• Collaborate with other leaders

Requirements

• Exceptional academic record
• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM
• Fluency in C, C++, and Python
• Experience with Linux and operational systems software
• Experience with Debian/Ubuntu
• Experience leading software engineering teams
• Professional English skills
• Confidence and thoughtfulness
