Job Description

Canonical is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team focused on security standards and hardening for the Ubuntu platform. This role involves leading a team of engineers, developing security measures, ensuring compliance with industry standards (FIPS, CIS, STIG, FedRAMP, CRA), and collaborating with industry partners to enhance the security of open-source software.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of engineers

  • Implement disciplined engineering processes
  • Represent team and product to stakeholders
  • Develop and evangelise engineering practices
  • Plan and manage progress on goals and projects
  • Support products to meet security requirements
  • Support cryptography modules and system hardening efforts

Requirements

  • Exceptional academic track record
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM
  • Drive and track record of exceeding expectations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience developing and growing people
  • Organized and results-oriented
  • Prior experience with FIPS/Common Criteria
  • Experience with DISA-STIG or CIS benchmarks
  • Knowledge of software and application security
  • Experience in agile development
