The role involves strategy execution, team leadership, and fostering a collaborative engineering culture.

Responsibilities

• Refine vision and strategy for automotive
• Execute engineering roadmap
• Represent Canonical in automotive community
• Lead Linux distribution and open source software strategy
• Build and lead a globally distributed engineering team
• Develop team skills through coaching
• Manage expectations with stakeholders
• Advocate agile software development practices
• Grow a collaborative engineering culture

Requirements

• Strong software engineering, Linux, and open source background
• In-depth knowledge of Linux packages and embedded development
• Knowledge of automotive and industry standards (ISO21434, ISO26262, etc.)
• Experience in C/C++ and Python programming
• Practical experience in automotive functional safety and embedded systems
• Experience leading and mentoring software developers
• Track record of timely delivery and high quality software
• Experience in agile development environment
