Canonical is seeking experienced Security Operations Engineers to build a new team focused on enhancing security practices, tools, and policies. The role involves defending against advanced threats, contributing to open source security initiatives, and improving the robustness of the Ubuntu ecosystem. They are looking for a range of experience, from deep expertise in defending critical assets to exceptional individuals with a strong passion for cybersecurity.

Responsibilities

• Implement and evolve SecOps security standards
• Analyse and improve security architecture
• Evaluate and implement security tools
• Identify, contain, and remediate security threats
• Grow Canonical SecOps practice
• Contribute to threat intelligence initiatives
• Drive threat modelling and exercises
• Develop SecOps learning materials
• Publish security-related content
• Identify and track SecOps KPIs
• Plan and deliver work in an agile framework
• Present information and influence change

Requirements

• Exceptional academic track record
• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM
• Drive and a track record of exceeding expectations
• Deep personal motivation in technology security
• Expertise in threat modelling and risk management
• Knowledge of security architecture and tools
• Experience with threat intelligence feeds
• Experience with NIST CSF
• Experience with ISO 27001
