Job Description

Canonical is seeking a Software Engineer - L3 Support to work on Linux-based infrastructure and applications, covering all layers of the stack. This role involves troubleshooting, resolving complex customer problems, developing bug fixes, and collaborating with various teams to drive success for customers and the Ubuntu platform.

Responsibilities

  • Resolve complex customer problems related to Ubuntu, Kernel, Ceph, OpenStack, or Kubernetes
  • Maintain relationships with Field, Support, and product engineering teams
  • Participate in upstream communities
  • Develop bug fixes and backport patches
  • Review code
  • Prioritize work and manage time effectively
  • Participate in team discussions to improve processes
  • Maintain clear communications
  • Travel internationally up to 10% of work time

Requirements

  • Exceptional academic track record
  • Background in Computer Science, STEM or similar
  • Experience with Linux and open source software
  • Experience with Python, Go, C or C++ on Linux
  • Drive to learn unfamiliar technology
  • Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year
