Job Description

This is a fast-paced engineering role focused on troubleshooting and resolving complex issues in a Linux-based software-defined infrastructure, covering all layers of the stack from bare metal to applications like OpenStack and Kubernetes. The role involves deep debugging, collaboration with engineering teams, and contributing to upstream communities.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex customer problems
• Maintain relationships with field, support, and product engineering teams
• Participate in upstream communities
• Debug issues and propose workarounds
• Prioritize work and manage time effectively
• Improve processes, tools, and documentation
• Maintain clear communications
• Participate in weekend working rotation
• Provide subject matter expertise
• Travel internationally up to 10%

Requirements

• Professional experience troubleshooting advanced Linux issues
• Background in Computer Science, STEM or similar
• Strong experience with Linux, LXD, OpenStack, Ceph or Kubernetes
• Strong debugging experience with Python, Go, C or C++ on Linux
• Ability to troubleshoot with gdb, pdb, tcpdump
• Familiarity with git
• Exceptional academic track record
• Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year
