Job Description

The Senior Product Development Engineer will lead the development, validation, and certification of Gas Furnace products for the North American market. This role involves managing product requirements, driving new product introductions, coordinating cross-functional activities, and ensuring compliance with industry standards throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Lead NPI cycles (design release, pilot builds, validation, manufacturing handoff)
• Define and manage product requirements
• Conduct testing and validation
• Manage certification efforts with CSA, UL, Intertek/ETL
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, service, and product management
• Prepare technical documentation and agency submissions
• Stay updated with regulatory changes and industry trends
• Provide guidance to junior engineers
• Interact with suppliers
• Contribute to continuous improvement and design reviews
• Assist in preparation for manuals

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required; Master’s preferred
• 5+ years of experience in gas heating or combustion appliance product development
• Familiarity with certification agencies (CSA, UL, Intertek/ETL)
• Experience with ANSI gas appliance standards
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to analyze test results and manage projects
• 3D CAD software knowledge and GD&T
• Proficient in Microsoft Power Point and Excel
