Job Description

LG Electronics is seeking a Product Development Engineer to join their R&D Center in Alpharetta, Georgia. The engineer will focus on the manufacturing and development of LG HVAC equipment, conducting research and development based on analytical thinking and market understanding to provide better value to customers.

Responsibilities

• New LG NPI Product Development Support
• Cross-functional collaboration with sales, manufacturing, and program managers
• Evaluate go-to-market strategy and review technical documents
• Provide engineering insight and improvement solutions
• Statistically evaluate and interpret product data
• Analyze field-based testing data
• Review current design shortcomings
• Create acquisition models for lab purposes
• Prepare service, installation, and engineering manuals

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• 8+ years of experience in HVAC, water heating, and/or unitary products
• VRF, Acoil, AHU, FCU, Chiller experience preferred
• Knowledge of vapor compression and heat transfer principles
• Experience in design and development of evaporators, condensing units, and/or heat exchangers
• Exposure to manufacturing processes and designing for manufacturability
• CSA, UL, or DOE agency certifications a plus
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• 3D CAD software knowledge and GD&T understanding
• Proficient in Microsoft Power Point and Excel
