Job Description

SimpliSafe is seeking a Data Engineer II to build, maintain, and optimize data pipelines and infrastructure powering analytical and application platforms. The role focuses on ensuring data accuracy, reliability, and accessibility for ML, Engineering, and Product teams, requiring a passion for data, cloud technology, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT data pipelines
• Implement and monitor data pipeline orchestration
• Collaborate with engineers and analysts
• Monitor pipeline performance and troubleshoot
• Optimize table structures and data storage
• Support data discovery and analytics tooling
• Implement data security measures
• Write and maintain data quality validation checks
• Participate in team discussions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• 2+ years of experience in data engineering or related field
• Foundational knowledge of AWS or other cloud platforms
• Strong SQL knowledge and experience
• Strong knowledge of Python
• Experience with ETL/ELT and schema design
• Familiarity with data formats (JSON, Avro, Parquet, Iceberg)
