Job Description

SimpliSafe is seeking a Software Engineer II to join the User Systems team, focusing on the development and maintenance of cloud-based backend systems that support native mobile applications. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain these systems, with a focus on performance, reliability, and scalability.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain backend systems
• Optimize systems for performance, reliability, and scalability
• Participate in design and code reviews
• Write and maintain tests
• Document systems for maintainability
• Serve in on-call rotation

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• 2+ years of relevant work experience
• Experience with a major programming language (JavaScript/TypeScript, Rust, Java, Go, Python, C# etc.)
• Experience with cloud-based backend systems in AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies
• Familiarity with DevOps principles
• Sense of ownership and accountability
• Passion for software development and continuous learning
