Job Description

True Anomaly is seeking a talented and ambitious Manager to lead the research, design, implementation, and optimization of advanced spacecraft algorithms. This role involves building and mentoring a high-performing team, ensuring algorithm verification, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance space security and sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead research, design, implementation, and optimization of spacecraft algorithms
  • Develop and maintain the technical roadmap for autonomy and algorithmic capabilities
  • Oversee algorithm verification and validation processes
  • Collaborate with GNC, avionics, and mission operations teams
  • Build, mentor, and manage a team of algorithm engineers
  • Own development and maintenance of modeling and simulation infrastructure
  • Establish best practices for code quality and documentation
  • Assess emerging algorithmic and ML/AI techniques
  • Translate requirements into algorithmic specifications

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics, AI/ML or related field (Masters preferred)
  • 8–12+ years of experience in AI/ML with embedded systems
  • Experience leading technical teams and delivering algorithmic solutions
  • Experience with Rendezvous & Proximity Operations missions
  • Strong proficiency in numerical methods and optimization
  • Expertise with simulation tools and languages like C++, Python, or MATLAB/Simulink
  • Ability to work cross-functionally
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
