IG North America is seeking a Software Engineer II to join their Internal Tools Team, focused on improving operational efficiency for internal teams. The role involves building and maintaining Ruby APIs, implementing technology improvements, and contributing to both new and existing systems. This position offers a hybrid work model with 3 days/week in the Chicago office.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Ruby APIs, services, and systems
• Implement technology improvements for security, reliability, and performance
• Provide guidance to junior team members
• Translate requirements into production-quality code
• Write comprehensive tests
• Perform light infrastructure work
• Learn new systems and take ownership of existing systems

Requirements

• Quick learning ability
• Deep expertise in at least one language or framework
• Experience with multiple languages, frameworks, or technologies
• Demonstrable professional experience as a software engineer
