Job Description

Galileo is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own complex data products end-to-end, shape engineering standards, and improve data modeling, orchestration, and delivery. This role is central to their cloud-native platform, requiring collaboration with Product, Platform, and engineering teams to build a secure, reliable, and scalable data ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end data pipelines
• Develop performant data models
• Translate requirements into technical deliverables
• Implement data quality and governance practices
• Drive root-cause analysis
• Influence cross-functional planning
• Mentor junior engineers

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• 5+ years of data engineering experience
• Expert-level SQL
• Proficiency in Python
• Snowflake experience
• Experience with a major cloud provider (AWS preferred)
• Workflow orchestration experience (Airflow preferred)
• Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform preferred)
• Strong grounding in CI/CD and DevOps practices
