Job Description

Galileo is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead the transformation of the finance industry by building and maintaining a cloud-native data platform. The role involves designing data pipelines, developing data models, and delivering data products to clients, while also providing operational support and mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement data pipelines and ETL processes
• Develop efficient data models and products
• Gather requirements and design tailored data solutions
• Apply data quality, governance, and best practices
• Perform root cause analysis and monitor data processes
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements
• Mentor junior data engineers

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering or related field
• 3+ years of data engineering experience
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts
• Proficiency in SQL and Python or Java
• Strong experience with Snowflake
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP (AWS preferred)
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow
• Familiarity with data transformation tools like dbt, PySpark, or Snowpark
• Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Looker
• Working knowledge of Git and CI/CD
• Collaborative mindset
