Job Description

Viam is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer to support the deployment and evolution of their surface finishing systems at customer sites. This role involves working at the intersection of software, hardware integration, and field deployment to ensure system reliability and customer success. The engineer will collaborate with internal teams and customer stakeholders to identify problems, design solutions, and drive iterative improvements.

Responsibilities

• Owning setup, delivery, and testing of onsite demo robots
• Supporting configuration, deployment, and reliability of production systems
• Investigating performance issues across software, hardware, and customer environments
• Collaborating with engineering teams to validate system behavior
• Coordinating with operators and customer teams
• Translating observations into actionable feedback

Requirements

• Strong technical problem-solving skills
• Clear and confident communication skills
• 5+ years of experience in field engineering, automation, or robotics
• Willingness to travel (~25%)
• Comfort working in ambiguous environments
