Valo Health is seeking a Principal Epidemiologist and Data Scientist to lead research revolutionizing drug discovery. This role involves leading complex projects, mentoring team members, collaborating with experts, and translating research into impactful insights using real-world data and advanced computational techniques.

Responsibilities

• Lead research projects from conceptualization to execution
• Mentor and oversee Epidemiology and Patient Data team members
• Engage external partners and translate research questions into study designs
• Collaborate with data science and program management to define project scope
• Work with diverse patient data using R and Python in cloud environments
• Champion shared analytic and coding standards

Requirements

• PhD in epidemiology or biostatistics with 7+ years experience (or MPH/MS with 10+ years)
• Robust statistical analytic skills applicable to observational study designs
• Advanced knowledge in biostatistics approaches and causal inference techniques
• Familiarity with applying LLMs to real world data
• Clear communication and experience with agile software tools
• Experience leading complex research projects with business impact
• Proficiency in Python and/or R
• Experience as an externally facing project leader
