Job Description

Appian is seeking a Business Systems Specialist focused on Corporate Systems, including Workday and Greenhouse. This role involves prioritizing, designing, and developing new applications or features, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring high-quality software delivery within an Agile/Scrum environment. The position requires a commitment to in-person collaboration at the McLean, Virginia headquarters.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and define solution product features
• Contribute to the product roadmap
• Share ideas and receive feedback from stakeholders
• Define feature functionality through collaboration with engineers
• Manage release and sprint backlog
• Write specifications for stakeholder review
• Translate requirements into Epics, User Stories, or Tasks
• Serve as a subject matter expert on owned applications
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs
• Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Identify and recommend new features

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience, preferably as a Product Owner in Agile/Scrum
• Experience with Workday and Greenhouse
• Familiarity with Jira & Confluence
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work through ambiguity
• Strong communication and facilitation skills
• Ownership mentality
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical or business area
