Appian is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Data Fabric Group, focusing on ensuring the platform's speed, scalability, and adaptability to customer needs. The role involves solving complex problems across the data layer, user interface, and design tools, with a strong emphasis on in-person collaboration at the McLean, Virginia headquarters.

Responsibilities

• Write full-stack Java & web technology software
• Utilize object-oriented and functional programming
• Radiate best practices and faster development
• Manage product availability, latency, scalability, and efficiency
• Troubleshoot and diagnose incidents
• Contribute to software performance analysis
• Contribute to team feature breakdowns and design
• Ensure team performance and quality
• Perform code reviews
• Build automation to prevent problem recurrence
• Identify opportunities for code refactoring
• Share advanced knowledge
• Communicate technical designs
• Contribute to technical documentation

Requirements

• MS in Computer Science or related field with 1+ years experience, or BS with 3+ years experience
• Experience in a high-volume or critical production service environment
• Fluency in Java or C#
• B.S. in Computer Science or related field
