Job Description

Appian is seeking a Pre-Sales Engineer to join their Solutions Consulting team. The role involves solutioning with an award-winning technology, working with creative people, and taking your career to the next level. As a trusted advisor, you'll help customers understand the business value of Appian's technology during the sales cycle and beyond.

Responsibilities

  • Responding to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs
  • Strategically problem-solving
  • Conveying customer requirements to Product Management teams
  • Providing technical solutioning
  • Delivering persona-based storytelling
  • Acting as a trusted advisor for customers, partners, sales, product, marketing, and leadership

Requirements

  • Technical depth
  • Experience in a modern programming language (Java, C#, Python, C++, JavaScript, SQL, HTML, XML, XSL)
  • Experience in enterprise software sales (BPM, Low Code, or Application Development Platform experience preferred)
  • Ability to think outside the box
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with production environments
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • 5+ years as a Pre-Sales Engineer OR 6+ years in a client-facing Professional Services/Consulting role
  • Willingness to travel 10%
