Job Description

Interface AI is seeking a Staff Engineer – Data Platform to architect, scale, and evolve the data backbone that powers their intelligent systems. This hands-on role involves building foundational systems for analytics, ML training, and personalization pipelines, ensuring data moves, transforms, and becomes insight for both internal teams and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build a multi-tenant, secure data lake
• Develop and scale streaming platforms for ingesting events
• Implement distributed storage systems with strong RBAC
• Enable real-time analytics and build internal APIs
• Define and implement data governance and compliance policies
• Build feature stores and training datasets for ML models
• Optimize cost and performance of storage and compute
• Mentor and lead senior data and backend engineers

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in Data Infrastructure
• Expertise in event-driven architecture and streaming systems (Kafka, Flink, Spark Streaming, Pulsar)
• Experience designing or implementing Distributed Storage Systems (Iceberg, Delta Lake, Hudi)
• Expertise in architecting secure, multi-tenant data systems with RBAC
• Strong understanding of Data Modeling
• Proficiency in Python, Scala, or Java
• Deep expertise in Cloud & Infrastructure (AWS, GCP/Azure)
