Job Description

Khan Academy is seeking a senior data scientist to partner with the chief learning officer and product leadership team to drive engagement and improve student outcomes. The role involves analyzing datasets, developing theories of action, measuring initiative success, and communicating insights to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product teams to develop testable hypotheses
• Identify and measure initiative success
• Perform exploratory analyses on datasets
• Quantify the impact of features, programs, and interventions
• Share analysis results with non-technical audiences
• Contribute to self-service analytics tools
• Improve data access for the product team

Requirements

• Motivated by Khan Academy's mission
• Cross-cultural competency skills
• Background in applied math, statistics, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in data science or analytics
• Proficient with statistical techniques
• Advanced SQL foundations & ability to manipulate data using R or Python
• Compelling data storytelling and visualization
• Strong business intuition and judgment
• Prior experience in the education industry (plus)
