Job Description

Minted is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead the development of a customized stationery editing platform, focusing on rendering technologies for images and PDFs. This role involves architectural decisions, core technology development, and ensuring a high-quality customer experience through advanced rendering techniques.

Responsibilities

• Design and create core image rendering and customization technology
• Develop libraries for rendering artwork in browsers and servers using WebGL/WebGPU
• Design data migration solutions for rendering assets
• Solve complex rendering problems like dynamic text and color management
• Deliver impactful portions of the solution

Requirements

• 15+ years of software development experience
• Extensive experience in 2D/3D rendering engines
• Experience in replatforming efforts and leading architectural transitions
• Experience with document formats (PDF, SVG, XPS, PostScript) and image compression
• Understanding of rasterization, vector image processing, and font rendering
• Familiarity with image quality metrics and color management algorithms
• Modern services architecture (SOA) knowledge
• API-first thinking
