Job Description

The Controller is responsible for leading all financial reporting, internal controls, compliance, period-end close activities, tax-related and audit interactions across multiple subsidiaries under the Bedrock Manufacturing platform, including Shinola and Filson. This role oversees accounting and finance teams and partners with the CFO and senior leaders to ensure accuracy and strategic alignment of financial operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate financial statements
• Manage day-to-day accounting functions
• Communicate financial results
• Establish and monitor internal financial controls
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations
• Serve as liaison for external auditors
• Coordinate tax filings
• Support budget development and forecasting
• Collaborate on inventory management and cost accounting
• Drive process improvements
• Lead and develop accounting and finance professionals

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required; master’s degree or CPA strongly preferred
• 8+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience with 3+ years in a leadership role
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, tax planning, and internal controls
• Experience managing finance and accounting teams in a multi-entity or manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems, NetSuite preferred
• Experience with Shopify, 3PL, DataLake, Azure, or Power BI a plus
• Proven success in consumer products, retail, or omni-channel businesses
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• High ethical standard
