Job Description

Flexport is seeking an Area Manager to launch and operate a fulfillment center, leading a team of 30-100 individuals. This role focuses on people leadership, process management, and contributing to the company's mission of simplifying global trade through innovative technology and operations.

Responsibilities

• Coach, manage, and develop a team
• Communicate policies and ensure compliance
• Manage recognition programs
• Support safety and OSHA compliance
• Ensure building security and loss prevention
• Own performance reporting
• Hold team to SLA expectations
• Troubleshoot fulfillment problems
• Escalate risks and resolve issues
• Measure and respond to inventory gaps
• Review defect rates and improve operations
• Track learnings and contribute to SOPs
• Prioritize systemic problem resolution

Requirements

• 2+ years managing staff of 5+
• Ability to lift up to 49 pounds
• Willingness to push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
• Ability to stand/walk for 10-12 hours
• Ability to work in varying noise and temperature levels
• Willingness to work any shift, including overnights and holidays
• Collaboration with internal and external partners
• Precise communication skills
• Problem-solving and data analysis skills
• Strong presentation and interpersonal skills
• Adaptability in a fast-paced environment
• Strong computer literacy (Google Sheets/Excel)
• Warehousing/fulfillment/logistics experience
• SQL experience
