Job Description

Flexport is seeking a Staff Network Engineer to design, deploy, and manage its global enterprise network. This role involves leading network infrastructure improvements, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with security teams to ensure a reliable and scalable network for global growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead network infrastructure design, implementation, and refinement
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot network hardware
• Design and maintain monitoring and analysis systems
• Provide technical escalation support
• Perform peer review
• Develop network policies and procedures
• Automate network event mitigation
• Manage vendor relationships
• Collaborate with Security team

Requirements

• 10+ years network engineering experience
• Experience designing large-scale global networks
• Strong knowledge of routers, switches, WiFi, and firewalls
• Experience with Palo Alto Networks, Ruckus, Cisco, Aruba, and Juniper
• Knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols
• Experience with VPN, Wireless, and Server Load-Balancing
• Programming/scripting experience (Terraform, Python preferred)
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (CheckMK, Logic Monitor, DataDog)
• Cloud networking experience (GCP, Azure, AWS)
• Customer service skills
