Job Description

Toptal is seeking a Hardware Engineer to design, develop, and integrate the core physical system for a new consumer hardware product aimed at revolutionizing how people interact with their living spaces. This is a hands-on, zero-to-one engineering role focused on rapid prototyping and defining the product architecture.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design
• Develop system-level architecture
• Rapid prototyping and testing
• Collaborate with firmware, materials, ID, and manufacturing
• Evaluate suppliers and manufacturing partners
• Build internal hardware lab

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• 5-8+ years of hardware engineering experience
• PCB design experience (Altium, KiCad)
• Experience with embedded systems and electromechanical integration
• Strong power electronics and analog/digital design skills
• Comfortable with ambiguity and fast-paced environments
• Excellent communication skills
• Authorized to work in the US
