Job Description

Toptal is seeking a Senior Back-End Engineer to scale their Core team and develop advanced data and AI tools. The role involves building and maintaining Python components, AI Agents, and APIs, with a focus on back-end Python, database, and LMM integration. The position is remote and offers opportunities to work on impactful projects with a global team.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain Python components
• Design and build AI Agents and data classification components
• Build and extend the SaaS Toptal Core Platform through APIs and SDKs
• Utilize generative development tools for testing
• Review colleagues’ work and mentor others
• Improve team processes and communicate progress

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with Python and LMM-based libraries
• 3+ years of Postgres/SupaBase experience
• Grasp of object-oriented programming and testing practices
• Familiarity with LangGraph/LangChain
• Familiarity with Redis and Kafka
• Excellent communication skills
• Problem-solving skills
• Passion for learning and providing feedback
